PTFE rod is commonly used in high temperature and chemical contact applications due to it's excellent resistance to heat, solvents and chemicals. It also has a very low coefficient of friction, good thermal stability and good electrical properties. The addition of a 25% glass fibre filler provides better creep and wear resistance, improved dimensional stability and raises the heat deflection temperature.
